This Privacy Policy explains how MenuWise LLC ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the MenuWise app and related services.
1. Information We Collect
- Identifiers and account linkage: device ID, vendor ID, internal user ID, and RevenueCat app user ID (if linked).
- Content you submit: menu images (file upload, base64 image, or image URL) and optional prompt text.
- Usage and diagnostics: request timestamps, analysis status, scan counts, entitlement status, and basic operational logs.
- Purchase and subscription data: product identifiers, subscription events, and entitlement updates from App Store/RevenueCat.
2. How We Collect Information
- Directly from you: when you register, upload menu content, submit prompts, or contact support.
- Automatically: when your device and app interact with our APIs for authentication, analysis, and subscription status.
- From partners: from Apple and RevenueCat for subscription and billing entitlement events.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide core app features, including menu analysis and account/session continuity.
- Manage subscriptions, enforce free/premium limits, and prevent fraud or abuse.
- Maintain reliability, security, and support operations.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
4. AI Processing and Third-Party Sharing (Replicate)
When you use AI analysis features, we send required data to Replicate, Inc. (our third-party AI processing provider).
- Data sent: your menu image (or image URL you provide) and prompt text needed to run the analysis.
- Purpose: generate AI analysis results and return them to MenuWise.
- User permission: we obtain your permission in-app before transmitting personal data to third-party AI services.
- No AI processing without consent: if you do not grant permission, menu content is not sent to Replicate.
5. Other Third Parties We Share Data With
- RevenueCat: subscription and entitlement processing.
- Apple App Store: billing, subscriptions, and transaction management.
- Infrastructure providers: secure hosting, storage, and operational support used to deliver the service.
- Legal/compliance disclosures: when required by applicable law or valid legal process.
We require our processors and service providers to apply privacy and security protections that are the same as, or equivalent to, our own obligations.
6. Data Retention
- We retain personal data only as long as needed for service delivery, security, support, legal, and accounting obligations.
- Analysis content and related records are retained for app functionality (including history/support) unless deletion is requested or required by law.
- Subscription records may be retained longer where required for tax, accounting, and dispute resolution.
7. International Processing
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own where we or our service providers operate.
8. Your Rights and Choices
- You can request access, correction, or deletion support by contacting us.
- You can withdraw AI processing permission in-app; new analysis requests will not be sent to third-party AI services after withdrawal.
- You can manage subscription settings through your Apple App Store account.
9. Children
MenuWise is not intended for children under the age required by local law.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version with an updated "Last updated" date.
